We could not be more proud of Brooks last night!
Brooks started playing tennis about 2 years ago.
He fell in love with the game,
and he had a good friend that he played with.
which always helps!
Now that he is in 9th grade,
he is playing for his high school tennis team.
He has had to prove himself to the coach.
There is so much satisfaction when you do that.
The three of us had a long talk late this past Saturday night
about the whole situation that he was in,
and what he needed to do.
He was frustrated with his the situation he was in.
A day earlier, my workout teacher passsed along a great quote,
which I told Brooks during this talk.
"If you aren't chasing your dream, then someone else is"
Wow! It seemed to light a fire under that boy!
He has been to drills every day since and worked hard!
Last night he had a school tennis match.
Usually there are several matches going on at one time,
but as Brooks was the last match being played...
the whole team, including his coach, were watching his match.
And cheering him on.
It was a nail biter.
Brooks was up 3-0
then 3-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-4, 6-4, 7-4, 7-5, 7-6, 7-7, 8-7
and then 9-7!!!!!!
HE WON!!!!
They would volley back and forth like 40-50 times at some points.
He needed that so much for his confidence.
Tennis is such a mind game.
We could not be more proud of this boy.
He has worked so hard on his game.
And I think he may have proved himself
the way that he needed to!
A pic from last night that I stole off facebook!
(hope I don't get in trouble for that!)
He was beaming when he got home last night.
Proud of himself too!
