I hate January. Yep, I do. I hate cold weather. I would rather it be 110 degrees than 50 degrees. no lie. I have been traveling the country lately, trying to make some money for this adoption. No, not soliciting donations, just working my job that is about to make me crazy because I have been gone so much. I was in Omaha 2 nights ago.... 5 degrees. Last night was Kansas City.... -1 degree this morning = MISERABLE.
Yesterday marked....
3 dumb months that we have been on the wait list.
A
little LOT frustrating.... we started this process 1 year ago yesterday.... and here we are... just 3 months into the wait. And don't even get me started on USCIS!!! We originally thought that we would be bringing Little Man home around this time. We are no where close to bringing Little Man home at this point. I'm just ready to have him here. I feel like our whole lives are on hold until we finally bring him home.
I know, I know... God's perfect timing.... well God's perfect timing is sort of on my nerves today.
Aren't you glad you read my happy happy cheery cheery blog today? Maybe I have the winter blues.

Oh Heather- I could cry for you! I can't imagine how frustrating it is. I'm praying for you and hope your day gets better! It probably didn't help that your friend bailed on you tonight:( sorry! Love you!
oh, been there and done that...so feel your pain...Oh,and i'm back there again now!! :) more waiting :) Can't believe i joined this crazy show again of "waiting"...It's like child birth...i forgot the pain until i was back in it kj
I am totally feeling your pain! This wait period, well.... sucks. Glad to read a "let's get real" sort of post. Don't get me wrong - I love the sweet, crafts after baking cookies kinds of posts too, but sometimes it just feels good to know I'm not the only one not really reveling in this waiting time. That being said, the 3 month marker does mean just one step closer to little man coming home!
Girl, I feel your pain. I have been so down about the wait over the past few days too. I think it's the cold weather...I am with you, love the heat! :)
Love a good, honest post!
Waiting just isn't any fun.
Waiting is not easy. Trust me - we have been waiting, well in March it will be 4 years, so I know exactly how you feel! And you are so right - there is a reason for everything and all happens at a certain time BECAUSE it is suppose to and someday, we will understand why!! I just wish it would happen sooner!! :)
I too HATE January! I'm with you all the way girl! I think about you guys daily and hope to click on here soon and see some GREAT news...he'll be home soon girl!!
Oh man Heather!! The waiting is the hardest part...or at least that's what Tom Petty says! Praying for your heart and a heat wave:)
I'm feeling your frustration...we're not nearly so far into it, but already things have been so much slower than we had hoped! I already feel like I'm getting anxious to meet our little one & she's probably not coming home for another year...so I can't imagine the feeling of being where you are - so close, but so far away! I'll pray for you guys as I pray for myself that the Lord will teach us what He wants us to learn in the waiting!
oh, i am right there with ya and we have only been on the waitlist less than a month! hang in there and by the way you have the most beautiful family!!!
lol...i love your brutal honesty. :-) i feel that way some days too. i keep praying that maybe we'll be traveling together to pick up our little ones. i can hope right? :-)
I feel the same way about January. Blah!!
Pray that you are off the waiting list soon!
I'll be honest....
waiting sucks! :)
I have been reading your blog for a long time, but never commented until now. I liked up months ago from YWAMs blog and come back once a month or so to see your updates. I am so sorry you are struggling in this season of waiting. My husband and I accepted a referral in July for 3 month old girl in Ethiopia. She was 9 months old this week and we are STILL waiting on a court date.
The waiting is the worst, but it is necessary. I have recently decided that in adoption terms, the waiting is like the labor pains. It is essential, it stretches you, it tries you like you've never been tried. And it means something wonderful is on its way. It is also the part of having a baby that we forget as the years pass and we decide to do it all over again. Or, if we don't forget, we decide it's "worth it."
So, welcome to the labor pains of adoption, sorry there is no epidural, you gotta go natural with this big old baby boy!
Wish I could speed this all up for you! It's good for you to blog that the wait is so hard. One day when little man reads it he will think, "Wow! They really, really wanted me! They had not even seen my face yet and they were praying for me, waiting for me, and missing me already!" He will be worth every minute of the wait. But I'm with you. Let's get this crackalackin! :) Love you much, my sweet friend!!!
