Frozen Tundra of 2011

It's been a lot of fun here!  4 days of no school... lots of family, friends, and fun times!  Here are just a few of the things we did...

baked
drank a lot of hot chocolate
played kinnect
had sleepovers
washed a lot of mugs
ate
ate more
ate more again
sat by the fire
played words with friends
watched movies
painted pet rocks
got braces on
sledded
neighborhood snowball fights

of course this is not a complete, comprehensive list.  just a few of the highlights, if you will.

3 things that I have learned about myself that I otherwise did not know after experiencing the Frozen Tundra of 2011:

1.  I am completely and totally addicted, obsessive compulsive about doing loads of laundry.  Our pipes are frozen to the washing machine, however, about every 10 minutes I still walk to the faucet next to the washing machine to see if for some strange reason maybe it has thawed out, even though it has not gotten near 32 degrees, enough for it to thaw.  It is driving me crazy that I cannot do laundry.  absolutely crazy.  On a normal day, I almost always have a load going.

2.  If I lived in the cold, you could bet money that I would weigh 500 pounds.  All.I.want.to.do.is.bake.

3.  I can make grilled cheese sandwiches for a house full in a jiffy (as my grandmother used to say!)  I am so good like that!  I love having a house full of kids.  Oh, and we had a lot of kids... in and out the revolving door!

Just a few pics of the good times during the Frozen Tundra of 2011

Then......... IT SNOWED!

But here is one of my favorites! always thinking about Little Man!
(btw-- I am a horrible artist... as I was drawing this, I said, "I don't really know how to draw Africa" to which Derek replied, "you've only looked at it millions of times! how can you not know how to draw Africa!" lol!

It's been fun!  Sun is out now... but temps are still below freezing... the fun continues.

Sorry about the frozen pipes, hope it didn't bust. Looks like everyone had a fun time off - you also.
