I know that I am right smack dab in the middle of "Beck posts"...
but before I get any further behind,
I just want to document this...
Kanakuk Kamp holds a special place in our hearts.
It's just hard to explain.
Our kids don't go to private school,
so besides church, youth group, Bible class, etc...
one of the places that fills their spiritual cup is
Kanakuk Kamp.
I have seen with my own eyes how kamp forms and changes their hearts,
the way the counselors and staff just pour into these kids.
It's always a special time for our family to head to Branson
to pick up our kamper/s at closing ceremonies.
This was Ellison's 5th year...
Halle Caroline's 2nd year...
and Brooks, well, you are either a camp person or not, and he's not! :/
And well, here are a truckload of pics!
As a sidenote:
I have 4 friends from college,
such a neat thing... that our kids all ended up a few years back,
going to the same camp, same term.
It is so much fun to get to see these friends and their kids,
year after year.
It's also just so cool how the kids have all become friends,
and hopefully will all be at ACU together someday! :)
closing ceremonies for Ellison on Friday night
My sweet little sis in club at ACU and her daughter, Miss E.
Ellison and Ellie have gotten to be great friends over the years at K-Kountry
Ellison's sweet counselors!
Ellison with Elizabeth and Sadie
reppin 147 million orphans!
And Miss Ellie got Kiowa princess!!! so much fun!
The next morning we headed over to K7 for Halle Caroline's closing ceremonies...
Each day they write a Bible verse on their arms that is important to them.
Halle Caroline and her sweet friend, Miss S
Then we headed back to K-Kountry to pick up Ellison...
and here's where the story just gets really neat...
Ellison bunks with 2 of my friends from college kids...
got that? ha!
So Miss E and Miss S that she has bunked with for the past 3 years,
decide they are going to be baptized in the slew (of all places!)
It is just really neat..
that we were all friends 20 years ago!
when we were young and crazy...
and here we are getting to witness our friend's kids giving their lives to Christ...
just so awesome!
Miss S
And here is the whole ACU gang and our gaggle of kids!
(well except Derek! ha! I met him while he was playing baseball
over at the Baptist University in town!)
I was an emotional basket case at this point...
It was Saturday... and on Monday we left for Africa to pick up our precious boy!
This amazing group of people said the sweetest prayer over us
for our trip, our boy, and our family.
Will never forget it!
Such a special day!
