We've got our boy!!!

We made it to Addis safely...
and we picked up our boy today!
He is absolutely amazing!
Beck Gudeta is adorable, precious, mischievious, curious, darling...
and did I say amazing???

He really did so good today...
could not have asked for a better day!
I asked our driver, Abey, what to expect when we left the orphanage.
(because Abey has lots of experience with this...)
And he told me that he would cry for about 5 minutes and then be over it.
Your heart just breaks for them since orphanage living is all he knows,
even if he is going home to a family.
My heart just broke for the change going on,
and the adjustment he will have to make.

Anyway....
he cried for about 5 seconds and we pulled out a sucker...
and that was it!
then he fell asleep with the sucker in his hand.

After that, we went to lunch at Island Breeze...
then for ice cream, because Abey had promised Ellison
the best ice cream she would ever have.
We just toted him along and he did great!
Good thing because he has a lot of toting around to do when we get home,
with 3 older siblings!

He had a few quick spells of crying when we just knew
he realized his world is changing.
They were short lived and we could easily distract him with toys.

He really likes using the word "Mommy"...
He uses it for whatever he needs or to show me something.
darling.
So happy that he finally has a mommy of his own.

Here are a few pictures from our day...
we have a ton of pics and videos on our iphones as well...

driving up to the orphanage

our first sight of him... already showing off!

flowers for mommy

Then we played some ball...
his love language.

driving away from the orphanage...
This is when he really started coming out of his shell..
had us laughing in stitches at one point...

It's pretty safe to say they are in love with their new brother!

Such an incredible day...
And I just keep saying to myself...
so glad we answered the call of adoption...
because we would have missed out on some serious JOY that He had in store for us...

Congratulations!
Will be praying for the transition. Maybe some day I'll sneak a peak of him at church :)
I'll be the one trying not to cry!
