OHHHH they were soooo right! They say... "International adoption is not for sissies". So true. Seems that we have really hit a big bump in our road. We have peeps that are often asking about our progress... so here's just a little update...
You know we have been waiting and waiting for that last piece of very important paper from USCIS (US Immigration) --- the I-171H. Well hubby called that office again today and it seems that we are still in a BIG STACK of papers that still have not been processed. So we have to be processed and then assigned a caseworker, and then we will get that doggone I-171H. Until then, nothing, sit back and wait. Last time he called, they told him to call back in a couple of weeks. We waited 2 days shy of 2 weeks to call back. This time they said to call back in a week, to see if our info has been processed. And that we would be receiving a piece of paper in the mail just to say our info was input in the computer. Our I-171H would come after that. Just frustrating because there were 3 families that I know of that were all just neck and neck with us going into the fingerprinting and now they have all been on the "waitlist" for over a month now. Frustrating for us. But so happy for the families! :)
When Derek told me all of this info.... all I could say was.... "God has the most awesome kid for us!" I know it's gonna be worth the wait.

Yes, he does, Heather! Hang in there! Praying for your precious family....all 6 of you!
He sure does! This will all be so worth it!! Surely it won't be too much longer now!!
It will be SO worth it but it doesn't mean it doesn't STINK now!!!
Got to keep God in the picture...He knows the perfect timing!! But it is so hard now. I can encourage you and tell you that the minute our daughter's nannies handed her to us the years of tears and frustration disappeared!!
We hit many dramatic road blocks in our adoption. In the moment, it felt like the end would never come. But its just the enemy trying to get in the way of good works. God will bless you ten fold for your faithfulness!
He does!! And your little boy is waiting patiently for his perfect family!!!
I know the wait is no fun.
But I also know it will be fun someday to look back at this post and realize all that God was doing during "the wait"!
Oh yes ... it will be SO worth the wait!
Love & Blessings,
Kim
We are in that stack as well and our move out of state has cause more complications and waiting then I thought possible. Oh well. Not a thing I can do =)
It's so hard to see this now, but God's timing is so perfect, and He knows the exact little man He wants to be a part of the Cheatham family! Hang in there sister!
